Hello everyone! I can't believe how long it has been since I last did a post on here! I have recently been doing some shopping and I have aquired some new products that I have never tried before. I thought I would do a post and share the things that I have bought recently! :)
The first product I'm showing is the Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in the color Liaison. I am absolutely in LOVE with this lip color! I only wish I had found it sooner! I already know that this one is going to be a staple in my makeup bag during the spring and summer. However, since fall has only just begun, it is unfortunately going to be a while until I will get to wear this. I tend to gravitate toward deeper pinks and berry toned colors for the colder months and this lipstick is a pink toned peach color. This lipstick is actually said to be the exact color worn by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Breakfast at Tiffanys *gasp*! I am personally a huge fan of the movie and anyone else who is will definately see how this may very well be the lipstick she used in the movie!
This next product is yet another lip product. However, this one will definatly get used a lot within the next few months seeing as how it is the most gorgeous color for fall! This is the M.A.C lipstick in the color Captive. I have not heard anything about this lipstick before, but I asked someone working at the M.A.C counter to help me find a berry toned shade that looked like my lipcolor. She directed me to this color and as soon as I tried it on I fell in love with it. This is a Satin finish, meaning it is not sheer at all. It is very opaque and has a subtle sheen to it. It is a very moisturizing lipstick and I absolutely love wearing it! I typically don't wear it heavily applied because I find it to be a bit too dramatic, but worn lightly it gives a gorgeous color to my lips!
This next purchase I have already begun to regret. I bought this green smashbox primer thinking it would help me neutralize my rosacea. Boy was I wrong! If you are looking to buy this to help with redness or rosacea please do not! I love smashbox products, but personally I just think this product is a waste of forty dollars. I have used it a handful of times now and each time I am reminded of how much I don't like this. It honestly does not do anything and it didn't even help make my foundation last longer. There are much better products out there to help with redness that cost way less than this one which doesn't even work. I don't know whether or not I will return this because I think I may try to use it a few more times just to give it a fair chance. As of right now though, I am not impressed.
This next product is a moisturizer. I was slightly reluctant to buy this because I have tried the Clean&Clear moisturizer that was in a previous post and unfortunately it broke me out very badly. I thought this one would do the same because usually if one product from a particular brand breaks me out, they all do. I tried using this a few days in a row as a moisturizer after I used witch hazel to take of my face makeup. To my surprise it didn't break me out! I definatly like this so far and I think I will be using it a lot this winter as my face begins to get more dry.
This next product is probably my favorite thing in this entire post! It is the Trish McEvoy Instant Pick-Me-Up Lips. Essentially it is a lipgloss that adjusts to your perfect shade of pink. Similar to the Smashbox O-Gloss which I have tried before, but this one is different because it is a long lasting gloss stain. Meaning that after the gloss wears off, the color is still on your lips because it is a stain. This is heaven sent for me because I love the color this gives for every day and I hate having to touch up my lips every half hour or whenever I take a sip of water. So needless to say, I have been wearing this thing every day since I got it! I have never tried Trish McEvoy products before but this lipgloss definatly makes me want to try more from the brand! I also forgot to mention that this lipgloss does not have shimmer but they have another version of this that is the exact same but has shimmer.
This product is a foundation! I hardly ever branch out and try new foundations because my skin is so tempermental and pretty much breaks out with every foundation known to man but I decided to take the plunge! I have heard loads of good reviews on the NARS Sheer Glow foundation and I actually almost tried it a while back but for some reason I never did. I was out shopping downtown with my cousin last weekend and we stopped into a little beauty boutique filled with high end makeup and hair products. Naturally I couldn't let myself walk by without going in. When I spotted the NARS display, I made a beeline right over to it. I was immediately hit with the urge to buy the Sheer Matte Foundation which I had only seen a few reviews on. I decided to go with the Sheer Matte instead of the Sheer Glow because I have combination skin and the Sheer Matte is for people with Combination/ Oily Skin. I have used it a few times now and I absolutely love it! My shade is Mont Blanc and it is the perfect match for me! NARS has become one of my top favorite makeup brands recently. I have realized that I have not disliked a single thing from NARS that I have tried so far which is rare for me.
This mascara is the Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara. I really really love this and I have been using it for about a week now. What I love so much about this is how it has two brushes. One side is designed for your top lashes and the other is designed for the bottom lashes! How cool right?! I also love the formula of this as well! It gives my eyelashes the perfect amount of length and volume without looking clumpy!
This mascara is the Clump Crusher by Covergirl. I can honestly say that I dislike this mascara which makes me sad. I had very high hopes for this mascara because I had heard so many amazing things about it. I guess I can't be too surprised since I don't really like the original Lashblast very much either. This mascara would be great for someone who has naturally long, dark, thick eyelashes. I on the other hand don't have the longest lashes and mine are very light blonde. While it is not clumpy, it just does not give my eyelashes the effect that I like to have. This nail polish is without a doubt my new favorite neutral. It is by Seche and the color is called Simplicity. It is the perfect beigey, peachy, pinky neutral. It is pretty much the same shade of my skin only slightly darker. I discovered this color when I got my nails done at a salon last weekend that I normally don't go to. I saw this color in the bottle and decided to get my nails painted with it. As soon as my nails were done I asked the woman if she had a bottle that I could buy because I loved it so much. She went to check but unfortunatly they didn't have it. Naturally I was dissappointed, but I couldn't leave without that polish so I asked her if I could buy the one she used on me. Since it was used I got a discount but barely any of it had been used so it was a win win for me.
This product is one of those miracle products that is barely talked about at all. I saw a video on youtube of someone using this who had very red skin and the before and after was just astonishing. And since I struggle with Rosacea I obviously had to research this product further. So I typed it into google and was shocked to see that there were very little reviews on this. So I ended up on someone's beauty blog which I actually quite like now, and that let me to QVC's website. It turns out that this product had been featured on QVC so I watched the clip from when it was on tv so I could hear all about the product and see it in action. In the clip you see three different people who have different degrees of redness apply the product. After watching that clip I was totally sold on this! So I ordered it immediately and I used it for the first time yesterday and it really is amazing! It is a redness corrector and it has the most amazing coverage! I am wearing it for the second time today and so far I haven't experienced any breakouts, so I'm crossing my fingers that I won't break out. It will be a tragedy if I do because I just love it so much! It Cosmetics actually just started being sold at Ulta so if you want to try it out, you can get it there!
These last products are going to be part of my new skin care routine. I bought these off of skinstore.com after hours of research. I had found out a lot about rosacea and decided to buy products specifically for that because I have been treating my skin in the wrong ways. I found that these three pevonia products would possibly be good additions to my routine. Hopefully they will work out well! I haven't used them enough yet to let you know what I think about them. I bought the cleanser, Toner, and care cream.
I hope you enjoyed this extremely long post! I kind of reviewed everything in this post but if there are any particular products that I really grow to love, I'm sure you will be hearing about them very soon!
